MooNiE and Broon: Foolish Mortals

MooNiE and Broon present a comedy-variety experience that blends spontaneous and outrageous comedy with feats of physical and mental manipulation of objects, audience and energy.

The two performers met while working on the renaissance festival circuit. Each had their own show and their own style and they often shared the same stage. Over time the two performers started showing up un-announced in each other’s shows until eventually culminating in MooNiE becoming a regular fixture in Broon’s final show at certain festivals. Their chemistry onstage was powerful and the two man show grew from just a few random gags to a full-blown theatrical experience with a life all its own.

Their current show is a combination of their solo and duo selves. Each show begins with a solo performance by each and then moves into the two-man material in the second half. As an audience member you can witness the styles of the two performers meld in front of your eyes, the edgy, pop-culture peppered wit of Broon is the perfect counterpoint to the ernest and silly personality of MooNiE.

While performing at the Melbourne Comedy Festival the AGE said:
“A brand of buddy comedy that I thought was a lost art.”

The energy when they are onstage together crackles with electricity. The two bounce jokes and improvised bits off each other seemingly at will and taking the audience along for the ride.

The New City Chicago said:
“An aggressive improvisational humor, their show is by turns inspired and thrilling.”

“The most popular part of the show by far is when we’re both onstage at the same time” Says Brian Howard who plays Broon. “That’s when we get to cut loose and have fun by trying all sorts of unrehearsed and improvised stunts. I think the audience realizes anything could happen and that’s exciting. We hope to give the audience more than a simple comedy show.”

More is the order of the day for these two comic performers. The laughter comes fast and is wrapped around a framework of juggling, fire eating, clowning and music. All underscored by the possibility that something new and wonderful could happen at any time.
