Fresh off her Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut, New York actress and talk show host Stacy Mayer travels to Hollywood June 20-25, with hilarious new stories about the most macabre of passions.

A darkly comic look at the inside of funeral homes, funeral rituals and a personal obsession with death. For six years Stacy Mayer has traveled the globe collecting the most outrageous funeral stories you’ve never heard. Inspired by and using verbatim text from real life (and death) interviews, The Funeral Crasher introduces you to, amongst others, a Midwestern house wife that likes to attend funerals of people she doesn’t know to a Buddhist teacher/stand-up comedian who conducted services for the original Marlboro Man.

Stacy Mayer – a quirky alternative comedy goddess in the tradition of Kristen Schaal – is the Artistic Director and founder of Manhattan Comedy Collective, and curator of the Emerging Artists Theatre’s One Woman Standing Festival held annually in New York. She earned critical praise for her performance in the Off-Broadway comedy, The Play About the Naked Guy. Her site-specific piece, The Funeralogues enjoyed a four month run at Manhattan’s All Souls Chapel and played in a Masonic temple on the Royal Mile during the 2009 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Stacy has performed and trained at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Upright Citizens Brigade (NY) Second City (Chicago) and Improv Olympic (Chicago). She is the host of Blogtv’s featured comedy show, Stacy & Friends.

Dramaturge Kevin Allison is member of the legendary sketch comedy troupe and MTV hit The State and the creator and host of the popular live show and audio podcast RISK! where people tell true tales they never thought they’d dare to share. Kevin Allison’s recent film and TV appearances include Reno 911!: Miami, The Ten, Wedding Daze, VH1’s Best Week Ever, Comedy Central’s Viva Variety and Stella, and HBO’s Flight of the Conchords. Kevin has served as the Artistic Director of The Peoples Improv Theater in New York and teaches comedy writing there, at New York University and at The Philly Improv Theater.
