“INVISIBLE” TO MAKE ITS WORLD PREMIERE
AT THE HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL

Anya Warburg to Take the Stage for Unique Solo Performance
At The Dorie Theatre – June 18, 19 & 20

LOS ANGELES, CA, June 6, 2010 – “Invisible” is a unique solo performance, where young artist, Anya Warburg, finds herself trapped in every artist’s worst nightmare—waking up on a bare stage with an audience full of people, and nothing to perform. At a loss for material, she reflects on her past and present, searching for something interesting to say, only to unleash her innermost conflict of feeling invisible. Through humor, cynicism, courage and deep emotional vulnerability, Anya explores her unnervingly normal life while simultaneously undergoing a bit of her own psychotherapy. Ironically, her lack of a story is exactly why the piece is so interesting and relatable. Directed by Debra De Liso, “Invisible” turns several boring devices inside out and approaches them from a completely new angle, bringing a fresh voice to the world of solo performance.

“Invisible” is running as part of The Hollywood Fringe Festival. Performances will be at the Dorie Theatre at The Complex Hollywood on June 18 at 9:30 PM, June 19 at 9:30 PM and June 20 at 1:00 PM & 4:00 PM. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through the box office or at the door. For more information please visit www.hollywoodfringe.org.

ABOUT THE HOLLYWOOD FRINGE FESTIVAL
In Summer 2010, Hollywood Fringe launches a Fringe Festival for Southern California: An eleven-day event uniting local, national, and international artists. Environments for Fringe include both traditional and unorthodox venues from fully equipped theatres to street corners, bars, and automobiles. All performances are staged in Hollywood, CA by arts companies and independent performers. In the spirit of most Fringes, participation is open and uncensored with all box office revenues kept by the artist. The festival has developed a creative online presence, which resembles a social networking site (like Facebook). Artists can develop project ideas, secure Fringe venues, and register for the Festival through the Festival’s website, launching in September.

Hollywood is home to dozens of Los Angeles’ premiere theaters and clubs, making it the perfect spot for the 2010 festival. The neighborhood has always been a source of unapologetic opinion, underground mentality, and a deep passion for the cutting-edge of everything artistic. The Hollywood Fringe seeks to build an immersive festival worthy of the neighborhood’s reputation. The company is currently establishing partnerships with arts companies, community organizations, and other local businesses in the Hollywood area to host and participate in the festival. This year’s festival takes place June 17-27, 2010.
