The Time and Your Life
Written & Directed by Stephen Kaliski

Starring Lloyd Mulvey (Rip Lamplight)
Rebecca Newman (Hilda Lamplight)
Christopher Salazar (Charles Gawking)
Nancy Noto (Penelope Gawking)

From acclaimed New York company Page 121 Productions, His Minute Hand, written by Stephen Kaliski, is to receive its US premiere this June 17-27 at the Complex Theatres, part of the Hollywood Fringe 2010.

With a country at war an authoritarian government decrees women, as the bearers of future soldiers, are to be kept in confinement. Friends Charles Gawking and Rip Lamplight are officers duty-bound to uphold the law. But as Charles’ wife Penelope falls pregnant, the men find themselves in a conflict of conscious and control, forced to choose between loved ones and far-fetched principles in a draconian society with dire consequences.

With echoes of Orwell’s 1984, His Minute Hand is a timely, riveting tragedy about decay of friendship and family. A searingly realistic, ‘Pinteresque’ piece of fiction.

His Minute Hand is the latest work from Page 121 Productions, New York’s leading theatre company dedicated to fostering the talents of emerging young artists and actors. Their previous production, West Lethargy, played at New York’s 59E59 Theaters and at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2009 to universal acclaim, hailed as “Delightful absurdist drama…Engaging performances all round” (The Stage, UK) which “Exudes charm…Easy, meaningful watching” **** – (ThreeWeeks, UK).

Stephen Kaliski (writer/director) is Artistic Director of Page 121 Productions, with previous directing credits including West Lethargy, Home Free! and Heracles (all Page 121 Productions), The Dumb Waiter (Brooklyn College) and Life Under Water (Davidson). Stephen has worked with Classic Stage Company (Artistic Assistant), the Royal Shakespeare Company (Assistant Direction, Little Eagles) and LAByrinth Theater Company. A graduate of English and Theatre at Davidson College, Stephen is currently an MFA Director at Brooklyn College.
