THE UNDERSTUDIES, the latest inspired comedy offering from Ten West.
THE UNDERSTUDIES, written and performed by Stephen Simon and Jon Monastero, directed by Bryan Coffee. Running time is approximately 60 minutes, with no intermission.
Stephen Simon and Jon Monastero are the talented two-man team of Ten West. Their signature blend of physical virtuosity and inventive comedy, coupled with poignant writing, broad audience appeal, and a unique theatrical style inspired by vaudeville, commedia and clowning, has made them a consistent critical and audience favorite in venues across N. America.
Though no words are actually spoken onstage, whole worlds of adventure, emotion, and affection are conveyed in THE UNDERSTUDIES, in which a pair of hapless janitors get trapped on stage in a suddenly enchanted theatre.
ABOUT TEN WEST
TEN WEST is the Los Angeles-based comedy duo of Jon Monastero & Stephen Simon, directed by Bryan Coffee. With a unique theatrical style of comedy inspired by clowning, vaudeville, and Commedia dell’Arte, the pair have received standing ovations and critical acclaim around the nation and Canada. Jon and Stephen were both recently selected and added to the Cirque du Soleil clown database. Ten West is two-man comedy at its most inventive.
The L.A. Weekly gave their production, Nights Errant, a “GO!” Pick and wrote “The two-man clown show is a wacky Dadaist trip…. all very goofy, giddy, funny and executed with infectious charm.”
