The Meanest Guy That Ever Lived
Lily Spottiswoode stars in the West Coast premiere of her one-woman show,The Meanest Guy That Ever Lived. Written and performed by Lily in the spring of 2009 at Brown University, this 55-minute show depicts the final days of her grandfather’s life as he lies dying at home in California.
Lily plays the six members of her family who are coping with the eminent death of their patriarch, each in his or her own doting and dysfunctional way; she also plays her grandfather, Hollywood’s iconic bad guy, who still has a lot to say about how life should be lived — from dining at Denny’s and raising ostriches to the power of silence and the importance of a good left hook.
