“Middle Terrace” Theatre in Hollywood!
“Hensley is a wonderfully atypical Jefferson, a Jon Stewart with chops.”
-David C. Nichols, Los Angeles Times
“The role of the nebbish flower shop worker is superbly filled by Michael Montiel. Montiel, the perfect picture of downtrodden humanity, is particularly engaging as he wrestles
with his conscience over the fate of his monster.”
– Tom Titus, OC Register
“Not much money, Oh but honey, Ain’t we got fun”
- Gramps
June 18, 2010…Hollywood…2ManSho in Association with The Hollywood Fringe Festival present AIN’T WE GOT FUN, written by Ben Hensley and Michael Montiel and directed by Lindsay Martin and Ben Hensley. AIN’T WE GOT FUN will open on Friday, June 18 at 12:00 pm and continue through Friday, June 25 at Hollywood Presbyterian Church “Middle Terrace” Theatre, 1760 N. Gower St. (enter on Carlos) in Hollywood, CA.
Two young men, disillusioned with the plastic lack of authenticity in our “point-and-click” instant entertainment culture, discover a dusty trunk that transports them to a bygone era of simpler theatricality. As they journey through yesteryear, they perform a pastiche of forgotten (yet remembered) Vaudeville skits and comedy songs.
AIN’T WE GOT FUN features many comedic songs including Pack Up Your Troubles, Be A Clown, When You’re Smiling, Ma, He’s Makin’ Eyes At Me, And Her Mother Comes Too, Goodbye My Lady Love, and of course Ain’t We Got Fun.
