A hard-of-hearing singer—known as the Deaf Lady Gaga—moves through fame, identity, and cancel culture, confronting a brutal truth: who gets to exist—and who gets erased. A 60-minute ASL solo show with original music, guided by a Trans and Disabled hero.
After a sold-out premiere at Solofest, the work continues touring as performance and advocacy, expanding visibility for diverse d/Deaf experiences and complex, hybrid identities.
Created and performed by TL Forsberg—an internationally celebrated artist, activist, and American Ambassador on Disability. Her work has toured 40+ festivals worldwide and includes See What I’m Saying: The Deaf Entertainers Documentary, Switched at Birth, and VH1’s SuperGroup. A graduate of George Brown Theatre School, she is a hard-of-hearing singer who has opened for Alanis Morissette, composed for Deaf festivals, and written for Miss Deaf International. Her solo works (The Book That Won’t Close, Between Two Worlds) have earned five Best of Fest awards, Producer’s Encore Awards, Solo Splash Award, Hollywood Fringe Diversity Scholarship, Trans Ally Scholarship (Christine Daniels), Top of the Fringe nomination, Pearl Award for innovation in Deaf culture, and LAWTF Rainbow Award for radical inclusion.
Critics warn: “Forsberg is a master at unfolding societal taboos.” (NoHo Arts) and “She will shake you to your soul.” (Broadway World).
Audiences & Crtics rave: “A truly spectacular show… one that stays with you long after the lights go down.” (NoHo Arts).
(All performances are accessible in ASL and English. The Hudson Theatre is fully wheelchair accessible, including restroom access.)
