“This is what theatre is all about: a compelling, transformative and entertaining experience” —Tony Frankel, Stage and Cinema

“A brave, funny and touching performance worth making time to see” —Kyle Moore, LA Theatre Review

Awkwardly brave and oddly joyful, My Mobster is the heartbreakingly true story of the unlikely romance that blossoms between a sheltered young woman and a criminal from France.

Vacationing in Italy, Joy meets a charming and increasingly mysterious stranger who wines and dines her, gives her her first kiss, and then flies her to Paris where things get really bizarre.

Toss in a hyper-religious, mildly racist mother, Joy’s complete inabilty to speak French, George Bush’s Shock and Awe campaign, the love-hate relationship Joy has with her intact virginity, and a little bit of voodoo… My Mobster is 87 minutes of unforgettable story-telling.

Joy Nash is a solo performer best known for her viral video series: A Fat Rant. She’s been featured in the LA Times, NY Times, BUST, Bitch, and O Magazines and recognized as an Official Honoree at the 2008 Webby Awards for Public Service and Activism.
