Meet Our New Community Engagement Coordinator

Hi I’m Melissa!

I’m so overwhelmingly excited to join the Hollywood Fringe Festival, specifically the Outreach team. 

I remember seeing the posting for the Community Engagement Coordinator on Facebook and I immediately thought the job was specifically tailored to me. Theatre has been a huge part of my life all throughout my teen years and into adulthood. I’ve worked in the non-profit theatre world, theme parks, and postproduction. 

My first introduction to a Fringe Festival was in San Diego. I was a student at San Diego State University, studying theatre, when I came across an opportunity to be in a show that would be presented in the Fringe there. I loved that experience. Since then, the Fringe has been very close to my heart. 

Currently, I’m working on my Arts Leadership and Cultural Management Master’s Degree. I chose this area of study because it focuses on the benefit art has on diverse communities. Theatre has benefited me, in the most positive way possible, and I hope to help other people have the opportunity to engage in theatre and all it has to offer.
