view project

Insuppressible: The Absolutely Unauthorized Leah Remini Story is the first musical stage play to bring to life Leah Remini’s exit from The Church of Scientology. Created and written by Jeffrey McCrann with music and lyrics by Robert Hill. Produced in association with WackenCrann Productions and Produced by Julia Wackenheim-Gimple and Kelli Rose Jacobson.

Insuppressible is a fictionalized, musical account of actress/activist/icon, Leah Remini, as she struggles to make the world a better place, speak truth to power and stomp out misogyny – all the while maintaining perfect hair, nails and lashes. You won’t want to miss the glitter, the gowns and best manicures you’ll find in all the Hollywood Fringe Festival!

Insuppressible was created and produced as an antidote to the current political regime. Now, more than ever, it’s become abundantly important for us all to to be “troublemakers” – to stand up to oppressive forces – to question the status quo because our lives depend on it. From its inception (by two LGBT men), to diverse casting, Insuppressible aims at representation for all. Its characters are strong and defiant women who don’t back down against bullies. Standing up for what you believe in and refusing to be labeled or oppressed by the majority – like a modern day Disney Princess, these are Leah Remini’s contributions to society and this show honors her and aims to empower more Leah Reminis to rise up.
