What I liked
I loved all of the music and dancing! I felt invited into Cyrus’ world and how his love for Madonna and Taylor Swift shaped him and gave him the confidence to be unapologetically himself. I loved the way the music carried the story. The stories of the adults in his life who dearly loved him and supported him through his emotionally turbulent adolescence and into adulthood were so wonderfully endearing. His father eventually accepting him is the happy ending everyone wants!

My overall impression
A funny, genuine, heartfelt, and witty tale of Cyrus’ coming-of-age and into his sexuality. Up against the disapproval of his traditional Persian upbringing and the disapproval of society, he finds freedom and acceptance through his love for Madonna and Taylor Swift, as well as the love and support of other parental figures in his life.
