What I liked
The expressivity of the dancer’s body and her range of emotions. The nod to Judy Garland, who’s resting in Hollywood Forever. The vibrant reds. Musical choices. The perfect spot she chose to perform her piece! On an island in the middle of a pond in front of the mausoleum of William A. Clark, founder of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
What I didn't like
The dancer accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, could just be the cherry on top!
My overall impression
Magical, elegant and spirited. This is a powerful site specific dance performance. It puts a spotlight on life, death, loss and the deep loves of our lives with such kindness and celebration. Christina Evans is enchanting! All the cells in her body radiate the special connection she has to the souls of the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The many tableaux created dance in my mind days later. A true joy to watch!
