My overall impression
In a truly original one-act play, Riot Grrrl Saves the World is packed full of solid performances, with especially good work from Poonam Basu and Zoë Lillian as kindred spirits who become closer as the play progresses. They both display a natural charisma and ability for the roles. TIffany Mo and Emma Servant provide rich performances too and it’s obvious the cast has true chemistry. The show is also loaded with wonderful asides to the audience in the form of short monologues, all helped along by well-paced directing – and as a bonus, you get to see a LIVE girl band crank out some raw, steamy punk onstage. But…does Riot Grrrl really have what it takes to save the world? If you haven’t yet seen it, be sure to catch it during the extended run. Woot Woot!
