Plays are hit and miss, in my opinion usually a miss. 'LOVE IS' is a massive hit!!! All the actors are on the top of their game and believe the writer Lee Turnbull is one to watch in the future!... full review

The cast gave committed performances on a not so easy subject. I also enjoyed the interviews of what is love...... full review

Love is...many things...but can it withstand the problems faced in a marriage, in this case, the inability for Lee and Emily to have children? The play is well written and acted, and I loved the twist ending, which I will not reveal here and spoil it for those of you who have not seen it. I also liked the use of video at the beginning and end. The only thing which I would change is to remove all the set changes and place the furniture in such a way that it can be used in all scenes. It will tighten the play and not remove us from the action. I would definitely recommend this play; it is very see-worthy! ... full review

Love is... was an awesome play to attend. The intimate setting of the theatre makes you feel part of while the actors pour out emotions that I'm sure everybody has felt before. The theme of the show was patience in love and making the right decisions. Come watch how Emily rocks her character and how all the characters enhanced her heart's turbulence. It makes you think....about what love is to you... A must see! ... full review

Love Is... is a great piece of theatre. The storytelling is compellingly told and the acting across the board is top notch. The actress portraying "Emily" is a standout and is definitely someone to watch. ... full review

This show had me gripped from the start and pulled me in every direction possible. The dialog was brutally honest, and the execution was both ambitious and on point. 100% worth seeing. ... full review

As this was my first show of this year’s festival, I expected some of the amateurishness one can encounter in fringe plays… you will not find that here. ‘Love Is’ is a tight, professional production that belies the fact it is the writer and director’s debut effort. The play deals with the most taboo of subjects, yet is never patronizing or preachy - it just tells a raw, emotionally-charged story straight without taking sides, while the audience is transformed to uncomfortable voyeurs. The performances are solid, the dialogue authentic, the characters believable. My only two complaints are I would have liked to see more of the John character and the criminally underused actor who plays him; and that awful, awful full stop in the title. ... full review

Love is ... incredibly moving and emotional. Saw this yesterday with my wife. The realism of the writing and quality of the acting is remarkable. She says: Riveting, Raw and Realistic...Should be a movie. Although not a crier, I was moved to tears as well as most of the audience. Would like to see again but don't know if I could handle the emotion. You know a play is good when you talk about it for hours afterwards. Outstanding! He says: Molly Beucher and Lee Turnbell deliver the dramatic goods. The story is told in the best tradition and irony of the classic short stories of all time. Jaw dropping. Hang on to your play bill and follow this ensemble and crew...they are going places! Great theater ... we cannot stop talk... full review

A superb script brought to life by a first rate cast. An intricate and heartbreaking portrayal of just how powerful love can be.... full review

What I liked about the play was that there was a mirror held up as to where western culture is now in terms of relationships and how twisted things have become in terms of treating people like objects that are simply there to fulfill our idealistic desires or wish lists, as if picking a partner was an exercise in shopping. This was a commentary on how deep materialism has gone into our psyches, to the point of the objectifying of people as objects to be disposed of if they do not fulfill our deluded wishes. To me it was a commentary on how far away we have gotten from true love in our culture. It was also a commentary on rampant narcissism, and unrealistic expectations that cause needless suffering, and the inability to see and enjoy ... full review
