My overall impression
In Open Mike, created by and starring Michael Cline, the star pulls his life and his heart right out of his chest and lays it bare for everyone to see. In this truly memorable performance, Cline uses his razor sharp wit and his considerable physical presence to help us understand how a life that could easily have gone astray or ended early has instead become a gem that we can all appreciate. Cline doesn’t hold back any of painful or ugly parts of his life, but shows them off like a man who can appreciate that all these warts and beauty marks are what make him who he is.
I highly recommend this show as a fine piece of personal theater that should satisfy your hunger for something real and meaningful.
