My overall impression

I give this show an enthusiastic GO! Seven Seductions is hilarious and surprising— you find yourself genuinely feeling for each of the characters (and Taylor Swift). Social commentary and actual meaningful themes suffuse their way into the script and underlie the entire show, and you find yourself left with them more than the comedy you thought you were watching. Tad Shafer is a BRILLIANT actor, so getting to watch him morph his way through 7 people is a definite treat! In a play that could’ve been done over the top, Amin el Gamal directs Shafer and sets the scene incredibly well— there is not a wasted motion or overdone moment. The play, written by seven female playwrights, is fun to travel through— each done in a different style. I particularly enjoyed Joanna Bateman’s Jake Gyllenhaal, Kit Steinkellner’s Connor Kennedy, the Taylor Lautner piece, and John Mayer.
