This show was wonderful. I wasn't sure where it was going at first, but the joyous payoff at the end was huge. Masterful clowning. Go see it! ... full review

Riveting, provocative, heart-warming, touching….Courtney Cunningham is a master! The show is a Chaplinesque adventure with moments of great laughter, tension, vulnerability, tears and joy. Exploring what is showcased in Poofy’s world is quite an entertaining adventure. The show transmitted feelings that we call connect to: love, vulnerability, solidarity, dedication and triumph. I highly recommend seeing this show. It’s an experience that will leaving you stirred and smiling!!... full review

The best laughter and the best tears come when we aren't manipulated into these emotions. This clown makes us laugh and cry and think about our own vulnerabilities because of her own commitment to staying vulnerable. Like the best of clowns, poofy keeps a pure heart wrapped in a barb wire coffin of neurosis. We all just want to be loved and to love, and so we laugh and cry at at her because she is so true. If you want to feel like a human being again go see this show! You will leave feeling alive again!... full review

Unmitigated praise! Poofy's a fully realized character. She's a hilarious character. Her foibles and qualities are all endearing, even as you can see why life is tough for her. I just want to be there for her, hard as that might be. Unmitigated praise!... full review

This has been (so far!) the highlight of this year's fest of all the shows I've seen - smart, honest, moving, hilarious physical comedy, and she completely inhabits the role - completely great!... full review

Courtney Cunningham is a bright, visceral and undiscovered talent who gives a tour de force comedic and dramatic performance in Burden of Poof. Her ability to reflect her artistic mirror upon the audience is a clarity and perception society in its current harangue of social media 'spam' has been waiting for. Go see Burden of Poof and get ready to see yourself. ... full review

I wasn't planning to see the show until I happened to meet the performer briefly in the Fringe Cabaret. I didn't think a show featuring a clown would be up my alley. I could not have been more wrong. This show was INCREDIBLE. Funny, engaging, sprinkled with poignant points. The type of show I wouldn't mind seeing a second time. The performer was completely present in the moment, responding to the audience, even to unexpected outside noises! She incorporated all of that effortless into the show. Too bad the show I saw was its the last of the festival. AMAZING! ... full review

This is a perfect show in every way. Ms. Poofy Du Vey has crafted a sly piece of work. She engaged me on a personal level; she looked right at me (I am sure she was looking at me) and said..."we are a team". A team in this world she has created where we are all a bit afraid. Before I knew it I was laughing and crying and totally loving her as well as my fellow audience/team members. I wish I could see it again...Oh thank you so much Ms. Du Vey.... ... full review
