Only the Moon Howls is an interesting, well-acted drama. A bit sad, but a good reminder to enjoy things while you have them.... full review

A really thoughtful and beautiful show written by one of my favorite playwrights Dean Farell Bruggeman. Skilled, subtle acting offset at times by the hilarious utility player, Lane Allison. An excellent production you should make time to see.... full review

This is all the best things a play can be: funny, engaging, thought-provoking, and extremely poignant. Dean's script creates a mystery which, once solved, is very touching. Beautifully acted by all (Laura's performance is heartbreaking), this show is highly recommended.... full review

This is one of the best festival plays I have had an opportunity to experience. Amazing performances by Laura, Lane and Richard. It was an emotional hour (I cried) and a story that I found to be extremely provocative and contemplative. Only the Moon will stay with me for several days. One of Dean Bruggeman's best works and a great directorial turn. I highly recommend and will be seeing it again before the end of the festival.... full review

For me, out of the 20+ shows that I've seen at this year's Fringe... this is the gem out of all shows. The writing/dialogue/structure/idea is just gorgeous. The acting from this small cast is so truthful. It's the only show that has made me cry so far this year. I planned on giving a much longer review because I have so many wonderful things to say about this show, but the most important is to go and see it. I would be shocked if someone came out of this show and told me they didn't like it. Well worth the time and money spent. This is a show you should not pass up.... full review

It's not very often that a show brings me to blubbering tears, but this one did, and it's a testament to the healing power of art. This show spoke to me on a very personal level. It was a very eerie case of art (almost) imitating life, and it affected me in a profound way. I survived a pretty gnarly car accident back in April. The experience shook both my wife of six years (who was not with me when it happened) and I up pretty badly. Sitting and watching this show unfold, we both realized at the same moment what was going to happen, and we clung to each other. The parallels between this story and ours were eerie; the husband is a professional writer, just like I am. The wife was home, asleep at the time of the accident, just like my wife ... full review

From start to finish this funny, touching and endearingly thoughtful play delivered. The actors carried it off with style and a spot on representing of complex characters. Left theatre with a lump in my heart and a smile on my face. This show is well worth seeing. ... full review

Only the Moon Howls is a personal, and moving hour into the lives of a couple over the span of their fourteen year relationship. The tenuous and fragile state of our love for that special someone is beautifully realized, as we are asked to reflect on the simple miracles in another which we often taken for granted. The performances are layered with the wonderful humor that often gets couples through tough and trying times. An hour of delight written and directed with sharp wit, delicious human foibles and a sweet vulnerability making us deeply care.... full review

I've seen or heard many of Dean's plays, but this might be my favorite. It plays with time and reality and truth - a case where the structure supports the themes. One of those plays that builds this little ball of emotion in your chest that you have to scoop up and carry around with you all day. Very heartfelt show performed by wonderful actors (really wonderful!) I can't wait to see where it goes. ... full review
