Loved the LOAD-In. Truly original. A talented group of people. I don't want to spoil the story but don't miss it.... full review

"The Load-In" is a lot of fun--David Svengalis creates a show that makes effective use of the dark and funky-cool atmosphere of "The Three Clubs" bar with a clever set-up: an actual load-in event that happens to be taking place in the actual bar. Loaded with snappy and original one-liners, irreverent and at times goofy characters, naturalistic acting and a pleasantly surprising live performance at the show's end, "The Load-In" is brisk and entertaining and a refreshing new twist on the concept of "live performance."... full review

Mr. David Svengalis is one of the most underrated geniuses in the business who consistently manages to throw together great pieces of work. The Load-In was both relatable and hilarious. I didn't feel like I was watching actors, rather just witnessing the gritty ups and downs of a struggling, amateur indie group. Natural, effortless, feel-good performances. Also, that bit about the Buzz-Feed quiz was gold. Check out this show at one of the best Fringe Festival venues, the one and only Three Clubs. And props to you, Sven. You've done it again! ... full review

If setting up a rock band to play in a bar was easy, then everyone would be doing it. THE LOAD-IN is a comedy that demonstrates how hard it is to get everybody and everything ready. It does so by setting up the band right in front of the audience. This features cast members including Jack Zullo and Writer/Director David Svengalis. It's not just a story about anything that could go wrong with this band, it's a genuine yet funny representation on what could take place with any band. It takes place at Three Clubs Cocktail Lounge on 1123 N. Vine Street and is part of the Hollywood Fringe. Catch it while you can.... full review

The Load-in is a light situation comedy following a band “loading in” a bar. The genius is in the location-location-location. The 3 Clubs Bar on Vine is the perfect venue. The show actually starts when you walk in the door. The bartender played with total realism by Tony Nunes is waxing the bar, digging into the corners, buffing anything that shines (He deserves a raise). The give-away comes when and if a customer asks for a drink and the actor has to send him out to the Real bartender. The audience was prepared to laugh and there were plenty of one-liners to tickle their funny bone. As a pro musician myself who has loaded in uncountable times, I was curious to see the show. I laughed at times when nobody else did because some moment... full review

Certainly most of us have wanted to follow a band around and be a part of their backstage antics when we were young enough to have the energy to do so. So it is quite a thrill to be in on the action of watching The Wax Robots load-in for a performance when everything that can go wrong does, yet it all works out in the end. You'll hear stories about their lives and how they got to be in this place at this time as their equipment and sound system miraculous gets set in place. The keyboardist has lost her back-up tracks, the bass player is drunk, the lead guitarist slams his hand in a door, the drummer eats some rice and has a violent allergic reaction, and the disco ball just won't turn. And one band member is late and nowhere to be found. T... full review
