I liked the idea/concept of using flashlights to tell a story in a unique way, and I found some of the dialogue to be pretty witty and funny.
What I didn't like
The characters are introduced rather quickly, and as other reviewers have mentioned, there is a lot of exposition about who the characters are and what they are doing, but it doesn’t really delve into why they are doing what they are doing (except a few later on in the show). Most of the information seems rushed over in parts and dragged on in others. It felt disconnected. On a much smaller note, I got really tired of holding the flashlight, and with all of their reflective/neon clothing, I wasn’t even sure if the flashlight was necessary.
My overall impression
It has a pretty good cast, and some funny and endearing moments, but the concept of storytelling through flashlights is not executed to its full potential. I went with another friend who was entirely immersed and engaged in the story throughout, so it’s all a matter of opinion. For me, I was disengaging because the whole piece felt disengaged within itself, if that makes any sense. Overall, not bad.
