I loved the use of vintage commercials between acts to help set up the mood and tone, as if you were actually watching an old show on a thing called a “television set”. What’s an iPad, anyway? I thought the actors all did great jobs with their characters, voices, and physicality. It was well choreographed with the music and had good timing.
What I didn't like
If one were to tie me up with a lasso of truth, I would say that I wished some of the surprises would have been kept a bit more on the down low. Specifically, I think a main character could have remained a secret from the internet, because you were wondering when her moment was going to come… However, they did it justice and it was entertaining!
My overall impression
Lots of fun, great characters, loony moments, all delivered by a talented director, cast, & crew! I was looking for a comedy and Stage Against the Machine delivered! Definitely a show worthy of the Fringe! I really want to see them tackle the 80s/90s! (Next year, perhaps?)
