What I liked

I was drawn into the play immediately. I liked the informality of the actors on stage moving around at the beginning, and then Dan singing the first shanty. Each scene offered new information about the characters, and insights into some of the dynamics between them.Very powerful story and script, deeply moving, with some humor. I liked the songs as both a connector and separation between scenes. Very moving… The cast was amazing, very believable—-very talented actors. Music seemed authentic to the story and I enjoyed the musical component very much. I felt compassion for the characters and was in tears at the end.

What I didn't like

My overall impression

Deeply moving, powerful, thought provoking. I cared about the characters and have been thinking a lot about the play. Exceptional performances by the cast, evoking compassion and a range of emotions.
