What I liked

When a piece of work begins with a stellar script and suburb writing, it sets the stage for an amazing performance, and Rena Brannan nailed it in the writing of this story.

Sophie Ward, gives a stellar performance that is complex, whimsical, and as an actress she commands the stage while never upstaging fellow actor Brandon Ruiter. They both hold their own individually and collectively.

I loved the complexity of the story but the clarity in which it is written. This should be seen on a larger scale across the country.

What I didn't like

I wish there had been an Act II

My overall impression

Mount Vernon was executed perfectly. The Hudson Theater was the perfect venue for a classic theater experience such as this. I hope to see Mount Vernon in a repertoire theater or off Broadway, as it is relevant without being preachy. It is a true theater experience, it makes you think, question, and creates an exchange of ideas with those who see it.
