Katrina isn’t the first person to say these things, to make these very important points, but because she makes it personal, it goes straight to your heart. In the talkback, several people wept when they recalled situations in their own lives that were the mirror images of scenes Katrina shared from her own past. Truly engaging, deeply moving work.
What I didn't like
I saw the first performance so there were a few kinks and wobbles, but any mistakes were more than overcome by the enormous heart of the piece.
My overall impression
SEETHISSHOW! It’s a terrific, personal, raw, funny and touching investigation of the labels people use to divide ourselves from others. Katrina is incredibly engaging, and she keeps you laughing while she shows you her wounds. This is important, political work, but it in no way feels ponderous.
