What I liked

The history of The Dress and how its role in Western Society changed over the centuries. And the music, of course!

What I didn't like

Once or twice, the (rare) recorded music was too loud and Brenda Varda could not be heard over it.

My overall impression

Loved this original work! What appears to be about “frivolous” fashion on the surface actually digs into the history of The Dress, its place in our society, and how a simple piece of fabric can change how we women feel about ourselves and our perceived desirability. It also delves into how we sometimes discard facets of ourselves to become new people; i.e. trying on new personas when we try on new dresses and discarding old personas with our old clothing. All in the space of 57 minutes.

And, of course, the music was impossibly catchy and entertaining.

Thank you, Ms. Varda!
