The backing tracks seem to vary between samples and what are perhaps karaoke tracks – consistency might make a better listening experience. Also, someone should check the speaker on house left (facing the stage). In the last song, there was some kind of crackle. Not sure if it’s the track or a torn tweeter or something – maybe even a loose connection. It’s worth investigating as you don’t want that happening on your last number!
My overall impression
The talented cast is clearly having fun with the material. Despite being male, I identified with Amanda’s plight. It doesn’t really matter that this show is from the female perspective cause apparently there’s enough d-bags and creeps of both sexes to go around!
Everyone was invested and the lyrics to existing melodies were surprising and fresh. The relationship with the roommate was especially believable. Overall, a nice breath of fresh air that – despite it’s subject – manages not to feel cynical or jaded. In fact, just the opposite.
