What I liked

The performers are the featured thing here. All 6 ladies did a fantastic job with their offbeat, fun scenes. Some of the bits were downright hysterical. I particularly loved the piece between Celisse & Tracey Graves as two gals faking injuries to extort insurance money. While audience interaction can sometimes be off-putting, it was very welcome and hilarious with this talented group.

What I didn't like

Although I liked the weird sketches, I left wanting a little more from writer Nina Childs. I think she wrote some pretty interesting pieces, though tonally they were kind of a mismatch. I would just LOVE to see what she could do in a lengthier narrative with a cast this talented. The ladies are great!

My overall impression

“Hot Combs” etc.! A fun, eccentric, and quirky series of sketches featuring a cast of dazzling African-American actresses. This is a funny, sometimes weird, interactive show, showcasing some real talent. I had a great time!
