This is a new work written and performed by Jeremy
Ebenstein, developed in the Jack Fry solo workshops,
a benefit show to raise money for the Santa Monica Playhouse.

Los Angeles- Santa Monica Playhouse is thrilled to present Jeremy Ebenstein’s new solo play called, Jeremy, Overcoming Challenges, En Route to Success. Jeremy was found at a very early age to have learning challenges and has longed to tell his story about the trials and tribulations of living with Asperger’s Syndrome, a developmental disorder affecting the ability to effectively socialize, learn, and communicate.

Jeremy, Overcoming Obstacles, is the humorous, inspiring, yet heart breaking one man show that takes us through aches and pains of living with Asperger’s from childhood to adulthood and how it affects his every day life from relationships to being able to hold down the simplest of jobs, yet striving for a dream.

One thing Asperger’s has not affected is Jeremy’s musical abilities. Jeremy tells us his story from childhood bullying, to hopeful romance, to depression through original songs and piano beautifully composed and written by Jeremy himself.

Yet, although there are as many as 200,000 new cases of Asperger’s each year, Jeremy’s story is one of hope and love not only for those suffering with this syndrome, but for all who have ever hoped and dreamed about making something of themselves, who have to deal with additional burden of the challenges that Asperger’s victims must overcome.

The script for Jeremy, Overcoming Obstacles was developed by Jack Fry (Einstein!, They Call Me Mister Fry) in the Jack Fry Solo Workshops, with Debra Ehrhardt (Jamaica Farewell, Cock Tales) serving as producer and creative consultant.
