Art and Abolition is the story of a black queer woman who journeys from Atlanta to Africa to restore justice through the arts. As a child she suffers sexual abuse which causes deep trauma, but finds healing and community through the arts. She then moves to Africa and uses the arts to bring healing to other young girls.Inspired by her own experience, she then moves to Africa and uses the arts to bring healing to other young girls who are undergoing different forms of sexual abuse from molestation to child sex slavery and sex trafficking. The story also follows her struggle reconciling her Christian faith with her queer identity. It’s a love story, a story of searching for God, a story about being different and taking risks, a story of survival. Most of all, it is a story that raises awareness of sexual violence against women and girls all over the world.
