I enjoyed this show! Being a Welles fan it was fun catching the historic references of his life and career. I also liked the thematic through-line of bullfighting. An interesting series of vignettes that never became sloppy-- I fear a lesser writer would have leaned into parody. Solid!... full review

It's 1937, we open into a small screening room on a young Orson Welles being harassed on his delivery of narration by an older, wiser Ernest Hemingway. This one moment gives birth to a turbulent, yet warm relationship that would span twenty-four years. The show is constructed of three vignettes between two men. In each of the three scenes the actors are swapped out for more age appropriate versions, but the through-line of the characters that we've seen is never lost due to: one, the talent of the actors, and two, the brilliance of the script. I'm not one to gush about shows. That said, see this show. Go prepared to really listen, to really observe, and to really feel. ... full review

You might think that there wouldn't be enough room on one stage for Ernest Hemingway and Orson Wells but Chris Wollman's beautifully crafted play brings these two impelling and volatile personalities to life in a way that not only makes sense but to an old Wells fan like me - it spells fulfillment! The cast all shined through their moments. I was particularly drawn to the young Wells (Hunter Saling)and the old Hemingway (Richard Malmos) and the fulfillment they brought to beginnings and endings. Bravo! Wells or Hemingway fan or not - this is a piece of theater that is not to be missed!... full review

Here's the sort of theatrical invention that always makes a trip to the Fringe a delightful adventure: Three pairs of men, a generation apart, play the same two 20th-century celebs a decade apart---Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles in 1937, 1947 and 1960! What a great idea! Not all the casting is "spot-on", but the theatrical conceit carries the show. The script is witty, too, which helps a lot!... full review

Such a great show (and not just because I did the artwork for their program). I was more excited about this show, based solely on the concept, than any other show I saw at the 2017 Fringe -- and it did not disappoint in the least bit. Top notch acting, writing and direction - heck, even the costumes were spot on! Do not miss this last extended performance!... full review
