What I liked

Everything! Fantastic direction snd acting, I felt myself forgetting it was a play and instead watching an actual – albeit disturbing – conversation. I was so engrossed that the stated 80 minutes went by in a flash. Dylan’s hip hop number, “the Divide,” was a driving and thought provoking performance. Just excellent from start to finish.

What I didn't like

Can’t think of anything. Maybe just get a bigger theatre and get more bodies to come

My overall impression

Ray Richmond’s “Transition” is a wry and poignant glimpse into an imagined conversation between President Obama and Donald Trump during their transition of power meeting. At times gut-wrenching, the play drills down beneath exterior walls to expose Trump’s overt narcissism and unsettling immaturity, and how Obama might not have fully realized until that moment that he must relinquish tremendous power to a dangerous child. It is smart and funny, but the core of its truth is dark and foreboding. It reveals the absurdity of our national predicament and perhaps better than any other commentary underscores the peril of being cavalier at the voting booth.
