What I liked

Although I enjoyed the whole piece, the second half was especially gripping as the haunted souls of betrayed women take the stage in their spooky ethereal costumes to crawl, stilt dance, and swing about in a ghostly dance macabre of revenge. The physical skill of the performers was nothing short of breath taking, and I have to give a nod to the director for choosing dancers of all body types to grace the stage – it was refreshing.

What I didn't like

The only problem I had was that my attention was torn in so many directions at once. And although I understand that most cirque performances present a plethora of acts moving simultaneously, this was so good that I didn’t want to miss any of it.

My overall impression

Cirque du Giselle was pure eye candy….No, more than that. It was pure eye creme brulee – a delicious treat at the end of our long Fringe day. The ballet, arial acrobatics, lighting, projections, and story pulled me in and washed away everything for that one hour.
