The avant garde live musical accompaniment fit the songs and lyrics perfectly. There were a couple of surprising theatrical reveals that were very well done. There was some very creative and effective lighting done with high powered portable colored lights that I hadn’t seen done before.
What I didn't like
The lyrics to some of the songs were at times hard to hear. Unless I missed something, none of the three couples in the show seemed to have children, which seemed strange for the time period.
My overall impression
Captures perfectly the stiflingly rigid and suffocating gender roles that women were forced to conform to in this period, as well as the despair and rage that lurked just underneath their pasted on Stepford smiles.
