Gabrieal Griego (Producer/Director/Designer) Currently production supervising Deaf West Theatre’s production of Oedipus @ The Getty Villa. Most recent productions include the west coast premiere of Judy Carter’s A Death-Defying Escape @ The Hudson Theatre, west coast premiere of Sona Tatoyan’s AZAD @ The Pico Playhouse, workshop production of The Christopher Boy’s Communion written & directed by David Mamet, & the west coast premiere of Geraldine Inoa’s Scraps @ The Matrix Theatre. Her recent designs include various projection and lighting designs, sound design for The William Inge Theater Festival’s 2019 Tribute to Octavio Solis w/directors Chuma Gault, Marc Valdez, & Juliette Carrillo. Noted projection design for Newsies w/dir Jane McEneaney, Martians – An Evening With Ray Bradbury w/dir Jeff Rack, & 26 Pebbles w/dir Jules Aaron. Other lighting designs include Synesthsia w/director Cate Caplin @ The Bootleg Theater, The Woman in Black, which she also directed, @ The Whitefire Theater & workshop production of Girl on a Bed w/director Guy Zimmerman. Other sound designs include Mr. Pim Passes By w/dir Jules Aaron, BLISS (or Emily Post is Dead!) w/dir Darin Anthony, and INKfest 2018, which consists of 22 different plays, all by female playwrights, w/various directors, for 2Cents Theatre Group. Recent directing work includes Jihan Crowther’s Lions for new works program MADlab & Deb Heitt’s Escape Room Thingy for the workshop program Season’s Readings, both with Moving Arts, as well having directed several Hollywood Fringe gems over the years.
