It's Important to Leave, as well (Feed Your Fringe)

The thing I most admire about this show is the process around it; I love the ambitious way this group decided to develop a show from scratch after they booked the space for the Fringe. The fact that the show happened at all is impressive, much less that it manages to be as clever, inventive and unusual as it is. I enjoyed the actors throughout, but my favorite moments were actually the charming book-ending monologues from the stage manager, complete with light cues.... full review

The Interview

Intense, committed work from the actors, especially Michael Dunn. Totally on board with the play's sense of outrage, but also its wicked sense of humor. And the eerie "20th Century Boy" sequence is mesmerizing.... full review

The Fire Room

I'm a little biased since Meghan is a member of Fell Swoop Playwrights, but The Fire Room is lovely. It's full of elegant staging and language and strong storytelling. It's both easily accessible and wildly imaginative. This production is a distinctive addition to The Fringe and one of the more theatrically adventurous shows I've seen in the festival.... full review

I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this set of four monologues. It's a simple show, but it was effective in drawing me in; the work built in power and intensity, with a nice emotional uplift in the final monologue. There's a lot of commitment, passion and heart in this one. ... full review

EXORCISTIC: the Rock Musical Parody Experiment

Really impressive work pretty much all around. It's so ambitious and the band and singers are all really fun. Lots of talent in this one. The thing that interested me the most was how the parody extended to the film's contemplation of evil, and how the suspicion of those ideas seems to double back on everyone involved. There's something big there that connects the parody take to the meta framing device and elevates the whole thing. It ended up making me think about our impulse to parody unsett... full review

Really solid and well done. I enjoyed following the reveals and the way the tension was ratcheted up. And the closing monologues took it to a new level. ... full review

Obviously Michael

Charming play about a misfit kid. What I loved most about it was the way that Michael wasn't only misunderstood or awkward, he really didn't like other people. Of course the play becomes about learning to live with each other and letting people in, which is all good stuff.... full review
