When Skies Are Gray

This show fucking wrecked me. Without exaggeration, it's the hardest piece of theatre I've ever seen. I don't usually write Fringe reviews for about twenty different reasons, but I felt like I had to for this one because it was so exceptional. Ashley is incredible and doesn't have a single false moment. The actress playing her mother is unreal. The whole conceit of the show was perfect to me. I'd be wary of seeing it if you've suffered a loss that's still raw or are currently going through one; I... full review

SHAKESLESQUE (To Thine Own Cherry Be True)

GO SEE THIS SHOW!!! My favorite thing I've seen this Fringe :) *So* smart and funny; I was DEEPLY impressed by the number of Shakespeare puns. Was expecting to just see a burlesque show, but was treated to an intricate plot (within-a-plot, no less!), fleshed out characters, creative song covers, and some *truly* excellent singing! And the burlesque which anchors all of it is fantastic as well. The script is laugh-out-loud funny, and I say that as someone who *hates* that expression. The performer... full review

TURBULENCE!

I really, really enjoyed this show! These guys clearly love each other, and have terrific on-stage chemistry. There are little improvised moments and asides that show both how comfortable they are with another, and how much they love performing together :) The characters are well-developed, the script is clever and funny, the pacing is energetic, and the songs are legitimately great. Just a really, really fun, silly, and at times even heartwarming time :) I've long been a fan of the Robot Teammat... full review

Trump in Space- The Musical

Had a blast at this show! Very funny, with bits of weird specificity that are truly inspired. The songs are great, and the cast has terrific comedic timing. Most enjoyable thing about the show for me was how obvious it is that the performers all love each other (which was especially evident in a couple of great moments where they cracked each other up). Oh, and if you're 100% sick of all things Trump, I'd still recommend this show: because of the "far off in the distant future" aspect of it, it h... full review

30 Minute Musicals: Outbreak/Independence Day

GREAT show!! So, *so* funny. I've seen a lot of 30MM productions, and this was one of my favorite pairings. The cast is across the board hilarious; there's a metric fuck-ton of talent in this group. Show is tight and polished and does both smart-funny and stupid-funny perfectly, which is exactly what you want when you're paying homage to movies where the human race is alternately threatened by aliens and a very tiny monkey. Highly recommended.... full review

"The Mermaid Who Learned How to Fly"

I'm going to be honest and say that one person shows are a tough sell for me - I am one of those people who almost always needs interplay in order to be really engaged. That being said, "The Mermaid Who Learned How to Fly" is EXCELLENT. I really, really enjoyed it. The characterizations are exceptional - I think part of the reason I enjoyed this show so much is that I honestly felt like I was watching a multi-person cast. Kyla Garcia is a truly talented actress. If you're already a fan of solo sh... full review

FANTASTIC show! Really, really, *really* funny script, and EXCEPTIONALLY well-acted! My favorite Fringe show I've seen thus far. This is one you should rearrange your viewing schedule for, in my opinion. Also, for those who are wondering, I have seen exactly one episode of "Girls," and I still loved this show and "got" absolutely everything. The characterizations and dialogue are pitch-perfect. Alright; I'm going to stop now. Just see it, okay? Okay.... full review

This show is fantastic! And 100% different from Four Clowns' production at last year's Fringe, demonstrating how versatile this company is. Both performers are exceptional - highly recommend!... full review
